Scholastic Book Orders

Oops...I forgot (because I left school early Friday sick...and have been all weekend) to go into the Scholastic website and click about parent orders online. If you've tried to order online and haven't been able to do so, give me until after tomorrow to go into their website. I don't have my teacher account number here with me at home, so I am unable to do anything until Monday 1/31 at school. Thanks! :)

Toast With Zombie Butter

I posted this on my other blog, yellowkittynotebook (my art blog) for my fellow artists out there interested in a moment of Kindergarten life :)
Here is a reading and writing activity I did with one of my Guided Reading Groups a while back. After reading our book, we chose a sentence from the book (or I randomly gave them one.) The sentences' words were cut apart. They had to put the sentence back in order and glue them down. I did my sentence first to demonstrate. Then they copied the words down as I did and illustrated. I was being in a silly mood that day so I decided to make mine have zombie butter chasing the toast (since the sentence was about bread.) :) Just thought I'd share a moment of Kindergarten teaching! (What was so cute about this is that one of my "budding artists" decided to do her own version with her sentence and made an anthropomorphic character too, feet, hands, face...it was so cute! I'd meant to upload her work; :( I must have sent it home with her because she was so proud of it!)

Late Post from October Field Trip

Here are some pictures from our field trip in October to Huber's in Indiana. I'm sorry it's taken a while to upload them; I've had difficulty with technology recently (as I've stated in a previous post.) Enjoy! :)

Our Thanksgiving Performance

It's the "cousins" all visiting at Thanksgiving.
The whole group at the end of our performance (practice).
Showing off our turkey hats on our performance night. (Notice Tanner H. in his pjs? :) He had to pretend to sleep with visions of turkey legs dancing in his head!)
Here are some "relatives" traveling by taxi, by plane, by train, and by car.

Tooty Ta!

Gonna try to add a widget to the blog and see if we can click on it and hear Tooty Ta by Dr. Jean!

UPDATE: Yay! It worked! Click on the crazy birdie on the right that has "Tooty Ta" written underneath him :) Now I will try once AGAIN to add the Thanksgiving song to our blog.

UPDATE AGAIN: Wow, I'm just figgerin' all kinds of stuff out today :) I figured out, instead of adding the little birdie widget doo-hickey thing for one song, I figured out how to add a playlist which isn't nearly as cute as the dancing bird. But I can try to upload all of the familiar songs we sing and put them on the playlist to the right. Woo-Hoo for me! Now it's time to go shopping. Later!

UGH

So sorry...this blog hasn't been updated in FOREVER! You know how it is with technology and all that...ALL those grandparents' day pictures are just gone! Disappeared! Grrrrr! So much for all the cutesy pictures of kiddos with their Grannies and Papaws :( Working on posting some other pics from our pumpkin exploring and a cute one of Wyatt on Halloween! That one was taken with my
phone (which can definitely be contrary when it comes time to transfer pics.)
Meanwhile, I have been attempting to upload our Thanksgiving song so that anyone with internet access could practice it at home. I spent quite a bit of time with no success...apparently after reaching the point where the song was finally 100% uploaded, it aborted the whole thing. Also apparently school purchased CDs are "copyright protected" even when you are simply using them to help in the education process! I even tried to link up with the textbook company where the CD was made to no avail. You will just have to wait for our LIVE performance on Thursday, November 18th!
